## General Settings

### Show Markers

This option lets you hide or display the markers on the map.

### Show Route

This option lets you hide or display the expedition route on the map.

### Highlight Active Marker

When enabled, the tooltip for the active marker is highlighted with a green background.

### Display Modern Name

* When enabled, the modern name (shown in parentheses) appears in marker labels. In the territory of the former USSR and Mongolia, the name is shown in Cyrillic; elsewhere along the route, it appears in English.

### Show All Photos

By default, only a highlighted selection of photos is displayed. You can toggle this in the sidebar by clicking the photo count. This option is available only at locations with a very large number of expedition or contemporary photos (for example, Leh, Hotan, Urga, and others).

### Show Photos on Map

When enabled, photos geotagged to specific coordinates are displayed directly on the map. This helps you pinpoint exactly where each photo was taken and makes it easier to explore the expedition’s route.

## Expedition Segments

Toggle the display of the following segments of the expedition:

* **Arrival in India**:  Paris → Darjeeling (1923)
* **Indian Route Segment:** Marseille → Darjeeling, Sikkim Monasteries (1924–1925)
* **Main Expedition Route:** Darjeeling (March 6, 1925) → Darjeeling (late May 1928)<br>
